Newsletter: November 2007

 Java City    Java City

Our Roast of the Month is Holiday Blend and Ginger Bread.  We bring two Rainforest Alliance Certified holiday coffees this season: our once-a-year Holiday Blend, with its floral notes and citrus aroma, and the smooth Ginger Bread flavored coffee, bringing back memories of cookies baking in Mama's kitchen.

Welcome the season with two festive concoctions: Merrimint White Mocha, a silky white mocha with a refreshing taste of peppermint, and Milano White Mocha-a rich and silky blend of dark Milano chocolate and white Java City chocolate sauce.

Don't forget your Frequency Card!

Same Drinks of the Month for December!  Also, stop by and find the perfect gift for your coffee lover! From mugs to ground coffee, we have all you need to perk up the Holidays!

Marketplace

We will be stocking a wide variety of Vitamin Water starting on Wednesday, November 7th.  Stop by and see what the buzz is all about!  Join us on Tuesday, November 20th from 11am-1:30pm at World's Fare to enjoy the abundance of a Thanksgiving meal.  It's so classic that you can't wait to have it twice in one week!

DSU Myth Busters

1.  You can only use your meal plan in the Marketplace.

       a.  Busted! You can use your meal plan in the Marketplace, Java City, Bits ‘n Bytes C-store, Concessions, and select vending machines.

2.  Your meal plan carries over.

       a. Plausible! Your meal plan will carry over from Fall to Spring semester, but all funds need to be used by the end of Spring semester.  A meal plan is required each semester regardless of the carry over balance.

3. I can get pizza, grille and deli all day.

       a. Confirmed!  Montague’s Deli is open from 11am-7:30pm.  Grille and Bene Pizza are readily available during lunch (11am-1pm) and dinner (5pm-7pm) periods.  During the off peak times of 1pm-5pm, Grille and Bene Pizza are available “made to order” for the highest quality.  The average waiting time, depending on the item ordered, is 10-15 minutes.

4.  My meal plan will not last the whole semester.

    a. Plausible! Depending on your eating habits, your selected meal plan may not be enough for the semester.  All meal plans are designed for the average college student who eats 2 meals a day/5 days a week on campus.  Use our budget sheet as a reference.

5.   Once my meal plan is gone, I’ll starve.

   a. Busted! If your balance runs low, you can add Dining Dollars in any amount (minimum $25, purchase $100 or more and receive a 10% bonus).

6.   DSU Dining Services staff is friendly and open to my ideas.

    a. Confirmed! We like to become your family away from home.  We love to hear feedback as to how we can improve your experience and implement your ideas when feasible.

7.   There is no information about Dining Services available.

   a. Busted! Visit our website found at www.dsu.edu under Current Students>Student Affairs>Dining Services or contact our Food Service Director at Jennifer.hauf@dsu.edu
