Zimmermann Hall, located in the northeast section of campus, is a
three-floor co-ed residence hall. Named
for the Zimmermann Family, a prominent Madison family, the hall has
the capacity to hold 124 students.
The dorm staff is made up of a resident director and four
resident assistants (two on each floor).
The hall council consists of a president, vice
president/treasurer, secretary, four floor representatives and a
food service representative.
The first floor of Zimm Hall is shared with a portion of the Trojan
Center. The northern
half of the hall houses the Resident Director and the lobby.
In this lobby are a television lounge and the computer lab.
The lab has a laser printer.
Second floor is the female floor and the third floor is the male
floor. On each floor
there is a TV lounge and kitchen area, complete with a stove, sink,
and microwave. Each
room has two x-long twin size beds, two desks with chairs, and two closets.
There are also four drawers available in the closet area. Each room has a phone jack and is internet-ready
(fee-for-service) and cable-ready (fee-for-service).
Every residence halls is wireless.
In the lower level is the laundry area.
The machines can be operated by either coin or with the
University Card.
Zimm Hall is famous for their annual event called ZIMMFEST.
This event, held in April of each year, is utilized as a
fundraiser to help financially needy people in the University
Community. ZIMMFEST is
a daylong event that includes local and regional bands, ranging for
progressive to Christian styles.
Numerous other programming events are also planned each year.
