Higbie
Hall, built in 1965 in honor of former University president Arthur
C. Higbie, is a co-ed hall that houses 150 men and women.
The hall staff consists of a resident director, four resident
assistants, and a hall council consisting of a president, vice
president/treasurer, secretary, four floor representatives and a
food service representative.
Higbie Hall has a large open-area lobby on the main floor, with a
big-screen television and couches.
The lobby also has vending machines and student mailboxes.
The resident director’s apartment is located in the west
area of the building. A
24-hour resident-only access computer lab, equipped with a laser printer, is connected to the campus network.
Each
room in the hall is network ready for computer usage and each
residence halls is wireless.
Network hookup is available for a fee-for-service, as well as
fee-for-service cable television and a telephone jack.
These charges are all included in the room rate charge.
Each room is furnished with two twin-size beds, two desks and
chairs, and open closets on each side of the room.
Laundry facilities, which are coin and card operated, are available
on second and third floors. Each
floor has a lounge with cable TV and a study area.
A large kitchen is located on each floor.
In each kitchen is a sink, stove, and microwave.
Higbie Hall is known for its programming events, such as Casino
Night, hall cook-outs and movie nights.
