Emry's Website
Emry
Hall, located on the northeast corner of campus, is named for Dr.
June Emry, a former professor at DSU. It houses 154 female students on four floors and has a staff
consisting of a resident director, four resident assistants and a
hall council which consists of a president, vice pres/treas.,
secretary, floor representatives and a food service representative.
Emry Hall has a large lobby area on the main floor with cable TV.
The lobby also has vending machines, student mailboxes and a
main desk. The Resident
Director’s apartment is on the east end of the lobby. A computer lab, equipped with a laser jet printer
is available for the students' use 24 hours per day.
There are on-line computer hookups in all student rooms and all
residence halls are wireless. All rooms have cable TV access and a
telephone jack. There
is a large closet, a chest of drawers, desk space for each roommate,
two twin size beds and two chairs.
Coin and card operated laundry facilities are located in the
basement of Emry Hall. Each
floor has a lobby area with TV.
A small kitchenette is located on the floors and is
equipped with a stove, sink, and microwave.
Many educational and informal programs are held in Emry Hall.
Some examples of the informal programs are decorating for
homecoming, parties, pizza nights, Halloween open house,
Mother-daughter weekend etc. Other
programs deal with issues facing university students as date rape,
alcohol and other drugs, peer pressure, etc.
