To prevent chemicals from falling into the wrong hands, which includes those who simply lack training, chemicals should be removed from the chemical storage area only as long as they are being used.   When one is finished using the chemicals, they should be returned to immediately to the secured chemical storage area.   To ensure the safety of those off arise personnel using chemicals, it is important that the chemicals material safety data sheet be read and thoroughly understood well before the chemical is put to use. The chemical hygiene plan requires that each building keep a complete set of these material safety data sheets in a place accessible to the general public. Also make sure that all safety precautions, including the use of proper safety gear and clothing, be used at all times.
