Chemical Hygiene Plan

Chemicals: the cradle to grave concept

Within the procedure section you’ll notice that a considerable amount of thought has gone into the procurement of and disposal of chemicals as well as their use in storage in between. This is referred to as the cradle to grave concept.  The chemical hygiene plan very clearly delineates the procedures for purchasing new chemicals, storing chemicals, using chemicals and finally disposing of chemicals.   Ultimately, the chemical hygiene plan has instructions for how to handle chemicals both before their arrival on campus up to and including their removal from campus.
