Key Personnel

Even though safety is everybody’s responsibility, there are nonetheless a few key players who hold additional responsibility above that of the rest of us.  Probably the main person that you should be most familiar with is the chemical hygiene officer.  This individual is directly responsible for safety and his or her area.  Any concerns of safety should be directed to this immediate person.   Even though a chemical hygiene officer is appointed to be primarily responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, it is important that one never forgets that they are a key player in safety is well. Always make sure that you keep an eye out to help protect yourself and your fellow employees by making sure that you know how to handle the chemicals that you’re working with and immediately addressing any unsafe situations before any injuries can occur.
