Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Learning and Behavioral Problems

This degree program is designed to provide prospective teachers with essential knowledge, skills, and attitudes to work effectively with students who are mentally, physically, and/or emotionally challenged in K-8 inclusive, resource and self-contained setting. Students completing this major will qualify for certification in elementary education and in special education for the elementary grades K-8.

General Education Block

Students must complete 30 hours of system-wide general education courses in their first 64 credit hours.

  1. No grade less than a "C"; must be completed prior to admission to Teacher Education
  2. Requires field experience

(*) Students are required to complete two courses (6 credit hours) that provide a global and/or cultural diversity perspective. Courses in the social sciences and humanities/arts that will meet this cultural diversity requirement are indicated by an asterisk.
