ED 281  EDUCATIONAL TRAVEL. 1-3
Travel to specific cities, states, countries, and/or regions and study of their historical, social, economic, and/or cultural aspects.
 
ED 291  INDEPENDENT STUDY. 1-3
A student independently studies an education topic with help from instructor.
 
ED 292  TOPICS. 1-4
Topic in education.
 
ED 295  PRACTICUM. 1-3
Individual participation in kindergarten, elementary, junior high, or secondary classrooms. Emphasis on observation, lesson development, and record keeping, may include direct work with students.
 
ED/MLED 360  ADOLESCENT LEARNER. 4
Current research and practices in the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and moral characteristics and development of the middle level learner within familial, social and cultural context. Includes a practicum in a formally organized middle school or junior high. Admission to Teacher Education.
 
ED 450  EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY. 1
An overview of the technology available to school systems. Included are computers, telecommunications, satellites, networking, large-screen video, and data bases. Admission to Teacher Education.
 
ED 462  COMPUTER ASSISTED SCHOOL MANAGEMENT. 3
Using the computer for budgets, recordkeeping, scheduling, grading, and evaluation. Review software and develop original programs. Admission to Teacher Education.
 
ED 471  CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT. 2
A review of the general principles of classroom management with an emphasis of accommodating individual teachers and learners.
Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education program.
 
ED/MLED 480  MIDDLE LEVEL METHODS. 4
Students develop the ability to design, deliver, and evaluate a variety of instructional strategies and processes that incorporate learning resources, materials, technologies, and state and national curriculum standards appropriate to the developmental characteristics of middle level learners; the ability to assess student learning in middle level; concepts of middle level education; and to apply theses knowledge, skills, and attitudes to real life situations and experiences. Admission to Teacher Education.
 
ED 491  INDEPENDENT STUDY. 1-4
A student independently studies an education topic with help from instructor.
 
ED 492  ADVANCED TOPICS IN EDUCATION. 1-2
 
 
ED 488  K-12 STUDENT TEACHING. 6-10
Supervised placement in a K-12 classroom in the major area of emphasis. Students assume full responsibility for planning, instruction, evaluation and classroom management during their experience. Approval for Student Teaching. Student teaching fee assessed.
 
ED 495  PRACTICUM. 3
Students assume responsibility for planning, instruction and evaluation in the area of reading. Admission to Teacher Education.
Prerequisite: Five hours of coursework in Elementary Education.
 
ED 496  FIELD EXPERIENCE. 1-3
This course offers advanced field experience for teacher candidates. Placement in area schools provide opportunities to be engaged actively in the teaching and learning process and to apply concepts and skills.
