Wittmayer Accepts Vice President Position at DSU

Madison – Dr. Jerald Tunheim, President of Dakota State University, announced today that Dr. Cecelia Wittmayer has accepted the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University.

"I’m very pleased that Dr. Wittmayer has accepted this leadership position at DSU during this very significant time in the schools history. Her professionalism and experience will provide a very important ingredient for the continued growth and development of Dakota State and its unique mission," said Tunheim.

Dr. Wittmayer has served as the Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs since October 1998. Her appointment comes after an extensive national search conducted by DSU faculty and staff.

She has been on the faculty at DSU in the College of Business and Information Systems since 1986. She received her BS and MS from South Dakota State University and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

"This is an exciting period in DSU’s history, particularly with the move to graduate programs and delivery of DSU’s first degree program via the Internet. I’m thrilled to be part of these changes and look forward to many other equally important academic advancements in years to come," said Wittmayer.
