Maurer Resigns at Dakota State University

Madison – Tom Maurer, Director of Athletics at Dakota State University for the past 3 ½ years, has resigned. He will conclude his duties as of June 30.

Maurer has worked at DSU during two different time frames, including Director of Career Planning & Placement from 1981 to 1985, then again from 1988 to 1996 as Director of Career Services & Placement. Maurer has been the Athletic Director since January of 1996.

"I am very appreciative of all of the opportunities I have had while at DSU and feel very proud of the positive direction in which Dakota State is moving," said Maurer.

Upon his departure from Dakota State University, Maurer has accepted a sales position with KJAM Radio of Madison.

"Tom Maurer has been a valuable member of DSU’s administration. He built the Career & Placement Services Office into one of the very best in the region. Of particular note, was his work to expand the internship program which has been a great asset to DSU students," said President Jerald Tunheim. "He has also contributed tremendously to the growth and development of athletics at Dakota State during these last few years. We wish him well in his position with KJAM."
