Dakota State University
Holds “Freshman Showcase” Madison, SD – Thirteen outstanding Dakota State
University freshmen participated in the annual “Freshman Showcase” sponsored
by the DSU Speech and Theatre Department on October 1 and 2 in Madison.
Presented in the Performing Arts Center, the “Freshman Showcase” as
an evening of ten minute one-act plays featuring freshman actors.
The price of admission was one non-perishable food item to be donated to
the local food pantry. The following freshmen performed in the shows:
Lisa Lee of Madison; Ruth Schlenker of Spencer; Matt Gappa of Nicollette,
MN; Melissa Wulf of Newell; Rachel Orr of Bristol; Robert Davidson of Winner;
Erin Even of Madison; Jaci Swenson of Dunnell, MN; Russ Petersen of Hartford;
Carrie Larson of Derby, KS; Ben Warrey of Milbank; and Mari DeZeeuw of
Springfield, MN. Assisting with technical support were freshmen Theresa
Steichen from Watertown and technical director Eric Schettler from Harrisburg.
The plays were directed by theatre professor Susan Conover and junior
Fine Arts Administration major Anna Black of Madison.
Justin Tvedt of Sioux Falls served as assistant director and stage
