Madison – Terry Ryan, Vice President & Dean of Student Affairs at Dakota State University, was recently presented with the South Dakota College Personnel Association (SDCPA) Patrick Merrigan Award for Distinguished Service at the annual conference in Rapid City on February 12-13.

The Merrigan Award is presented each year to "an SDCPA member who has exhibited outstanding leadership within the individual’s institution and area of responsibility and who has significantly contributed to the profession and the South Dakota College Personnel Association."

Ryan has been a member of the SDCPA for 22 years and has served in several capacities within the organization, including serving as president during 1991-92.
