DSU’s Venekamp and Sterling to Present at Conference


Madison – Dakota State University’s Linda Venekamp, Associate Professor for the College of Education, and Vicki Sterling, Assistant Professor for the College of Education, will be featured presenters at the 16th Annual National Conference on Technology, Reading & Learning Difficulties. The conference, which runs from January 29-31, is in San Francisco, California and is co-sponsored by the International Reading Association.

Venekamp and Sterling’s presentation will be among 50 presentations and 112 sessions and workshops focused on actual classroom applications such as reading, writing, learning disabilities, and world wide web.

Both professors will present "Connecting a Rural State to the World" and is geared for classroom teachers and administrators. In their teacher education courses at the University, they introduce students to children and teachers throughout the world and students are able to visit with people in a diverse setting through listservs, bulletin boards, and chat rooms via the computer.
