Alex Abrams to speak at DSU


Madison – The Student Activities Board at Dakota State University is pleased to announce that Mr. Alex Abrams will be presenting a lecture program at DSU on Tuesday, April 14th. His presentation will begin at 7pm in East Hall 100. The lecture is open to the public and free of charge.

The topic of Mr. Abrams lecture will be "National Affairs, Politics, and the Media: A Post-Baby Boom Perspective." He focuses on the characteristics which define Generation X and the social and political challenges which lie ahead.

Abrams, the former political analyst for MTV News, is the 32-year-old co-author of Late Bloomers: Coming of Age in Today’s America, The Right Place at the Wrong Time. The novel is a critically acclaimed look at social and political issues affecting America’s post-baby boom generation. He is a nationally known opinion journalist whose columns regularly appear in 25 newspapers nationwide.

In 1996, Abrams joined MTV as the network’s political analyst, where his responsibilities included writing an on-line campaign column and overseeing editorial content for the broadcast coverage of the ’96 Presidential race. Formerly a practicing attorney, Mr. Abrams graduated from Brown University in 1987 with a degree in comparative literature.
