Miller Educators Attend Internet Class at Dakota State Madison -- Thirty-six of 43 faculty, staff, and administrators from the Miller School district attended the graduate course CED 570 Teacher Productivity Using the Internet at Dakota State University on Saturday, March 22. The remainder of the students who are enrolled in the class will be coming to campus on April 5. The class covered several topics in Internet usage, including educational Internet web sites, search engines, educational newsgroups, chat rooms, electronic mail, and developing web pages. The class was taught by Tom Farrell, Bruce White, Roger Reed and Jim McKeown all professors from the College of Business and Information Systems at Dakota State University. It is part of a grant received by the Miller district to bring the Internet to the classroom. Many Dakota State students, including several Miller High School graduates, helped with the class by sending electronic mail to the participants. The participants have to complete a three part Internet assignment done on the Miller districts computers to finish the one-credit course. Dakota State University encourages any school district or agency interested in Internet or related computer training to contact the College of Business & Information Systems at 605-256-5165.
