DSU Receives Microsoft Grant Madison -- Dakota State University recently was awarded a Microsoft Academic Cooperative Instructional Grant for software licenses valued at $36,000. The grant was submitted by DSU professor Andrew Jansma. "This grant is one of several grants DSU has been awarded in recent years and will be used primarily for course development and to further incorporate the Windows NT operating system into our environment at Dakota State," said Jansma. According to Microsoft, the award is granted for software support courses for existing programs. Selected universities have courses which best meet the objectives of the grant, including. Other recipients of the grant have included Purdue University, Cornell University, Rennselear Polytechnic Institute, and the University of Maryland. The universities share course syllabi and other materials through a web site established by Microsoft. (end) |
