Lohsandt appointed Director of Career Services & Placement at DSU Madison -- The Office of Career Services & Placement at Dakota State University is now under new direction, as Marie Lohsandt has been appointed Director of Career Services & Placement. Lohsandt will direct the credential services, weekly and individual vacancy listings, workshops for job seekers, and related classroom instruction. Placement of DSU graduates and assistance to our alums seeking career opportunities continues to be a highly emphasized effort. Marie, with her familiarity with DSU programs, her knowledge of the employers who routinely call upon DSU for staffing, and the history of our efforts, the career services area will not only strongly continue, but most probably expand for our job seekers and employers, said Tom Maurer, Director of University Relations & Athletics at Dakota State University. Lohsandt will also direct the Student Employment Service, whereby local and regional employers have used students to perform spot jobs, various part-time jobs, and summer job opportunities. She is a graduate of Dakota State University, earning her Bachelors in Business Administration in 1988. She received her Master of Science in Public Administration from the University of South Dakota in 1994. Previously, Lohsandt had worked as the Student Employment Counselor at DSU from 1988-94, and most recently, as the Executive Director of the Madison Area Career Learning Center. Former director, Tom Maurer, will continue to assist the Career Services Office with services to students seeking internships, however, with his re-assignment to Director of University Relations & Athletics, Lohsandt will now take over the Career Services & Placement area. |
