DSU’s Gearhart presents at conference

Madison—Deb Gearhart, Director of Distance Education at Dakota State University, is a presenter this year at the annual American Association for Collegiate Independent Study (AACIS) being held at the University of Georgia—Athens this week. The theme of the conference is "Creating New Traditions."

Gearhart’s presentation, "The Birth of a Program", is based on how Dakota State set up its Distance Education program, which is comprised of all web-based courses. Gearhart will focus on how DSU set up student services, course design and development, changing attitudes on campus, and utilizing a small staff.
