College Fast Track Program Introduced at DSU Madison, SD -- For high school students who want a head start on their college education, Dakota State University now offers them the opportunity. DSU is introducing the College Fast Track program which offers high school students college courses over the internet. All that is needed is a computer with internet access and the desire to move ahead. "The Office of Distance Education offers a number of 100 level courses every year that would be advantageous for high school students, and we are very excited about this new program," said Deb Gearhart, Director of Distance Education at DSU. Courses this year range from Principles of Programming to English Composition to Career Planning. Students may also find that the course credits help meet their high school graduation requirements. Credits are transferrable to most colleges and universities. To give students an added incentive, Dakota State University is also offering an Incentive Scholarship. The first 50 high school students to enroll each semester will receive ½ tuition for up to three credit hours. As scholarships are expected to go quickly, the university recommends early registration. To register for the College Fast Track program, students need only to visit the DSU web site (www.dsu.edu) under the Distance Education button. Online registration materials are available, as well as further information on course descriptions and tuition & fees. For further information about the program, contact the Office of Distance Education at (605) 256-5049 or 1-800-641-4309 or e-mail dsuinfo@columbia.dsu.edu. (end) |
