DSU Graduate Receives National Award Madison -- Julie Anderson, a 1997 Health Information Management graduate from Dakota State University, was recently awarded the New Frontier Award by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). The New Frontier Award seeks to recognize and encourage the best of the fresh new talent being trained in health information administration or health information technology degree programs nationwide, according to the AHIMA. "We are proud to see Julie win this award. She was an outstanding student in many ways and her contributions to the university, HIM programs, and Health Information Management Club have been commendable," said Dorine Bennett, Director of the HIM programs at Dakota State. "During the four years I have known her, Julie has repeatedly impressed me as a very capable and accomplished young woman with many talents." Julie is a 1993 graduate of Brandon Valley High School. She is currently working for McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. (end) |
