Dakota State Names New Vice President

 Dakota State announces the hiring of Jesse Wise as Vice President of Student Affairs.

Wise is currently the Dean of Student Life at Bowie State University in Bowie, MD, a position he has held since 2005. Prior to being named Dean, he served as director of student and resident life at Bowie State.  Wise has prior experience as the area housing coordinator at Bowie, and as the coordinator of the peer mentoring program at University of Maryland in College Park, MD.

Wise obtained his undergraduate and masters degrees from Bowie State University.  He is pursuing his doctoral degree in higher education administration from Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD

Dr. Douglas Knowlton, President of DSU indicates,” Dakota State is so pleased to have someone with Jesse’s experience joining our team. His personality and his dedication to students will make him an exceptional member of our staff.”

Wise will assume his duties at Dakota State on October 1, 2008.  He takes the position previously held by Dr. Steve Shirley who left to take the presidency of Valley City State University in North Dakota.
