DSU Holds Sweater Day to Honor Mr. Rogers
The Dakota State University
community celebrated “sweater day” in honor of the late Fred
Rogers, host of the children’s show “Mr. Rogers Neighborhood,” whose
trademark garb was the sweater.

The campus also collected new and gently used sweaters that will be donated to charity. “We would like our DSU neighbors to not only wear a sweater in tribute to Rogers and the values he promoted, but also to donate their extras to needy neighbors who don’t have one to keep them warm in the cold weather,” said Ethelle Bean, Director of the Karl E. Mundt Library. Rogers, who would have been 80 on March 20, passed
away due to cancer in 2003.
