Global Warming Event in Sioux Falls January 22

Famed explorer and global warming activist Will Steger will be in Sioux Falls January 22 to share his presentation Eyewitness to Global Warming at Augustana College.  The event is free and open to the public starting at 7:00 pm at Kresege Hall--Humanities Center at 30th St. and S. Grange, Sioux Falls.

Steger will be joined by J. Drake Hamilton, Science Policy Director for Fresh Energy, bringing their successful Global Warming Solutions presentation to South Dakota. During the joint presentation, Steger will share vivid, firsthand accounts of the effects of global warming on the Arctic and Antarctic, marrying global warming science with the adventure of his expeditions.  Hamilton will describe effective global warming solutions for individuals, businesses and government.

Over the past two years, Steger and Hamilton have brought their message to over 40,000 Minnesotans, from the twin cities metro area, to rural communities, congregations, businesses, universities and community centers, reaching some of the most conservative and furthest communities in that state with this critical message: global warming is happening now and there are market-based solutions and sound energy policies that can and must be embraced. They have been encouraging action at the individual, local and state level. Now they are teaming up to bring that same message to South Dakota.

Dakota State, along with Augustana and several others, are serving as corporate sponsors.
