Tobacco Prevention Advocate Speaks at DSU National tobacco prevention advocate Rick Stoddard will present The Burning Truth Tuesday, April 3 at 7:00pm in the Technology Classroom Building Auditorium on the Dakota State University campus. Stoddard’s presentation is free and open to the public of all ages. Stoddard was inspired to speak out on tobacco prevention after his 46 year old wife Marie died of tobacco-caused lung cancer. Since Marie’s death, Stoddard has traveled the United States speaking to youth about the tobacco industry and their marketing tactics. This event is supported by the South Dakota Department of Health, Dakota State University, Citi, Volunteers of America–Dakotas, American Lung Association, Communication Service for the Deaf, Inc., and O’Gorman High School.
