Last evening, Wednesday, April 25, Sigma Tau Delta inducted nine new members into the honor society.

The new members are Dr. John Nelson, Dr. Daniel Weinstein, Melanie Argo, Adam Bruns, Jill Hansen, Sara Harp, Lisa Huff, Lisa Stien, and Nicole Woessner.

Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society is open to students majoring in English or English Education. Its central purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies. Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.

Members have the opportunity to publish their writing in the organization’s literary magazine, to compete for writing awards, and to compete for scholarships.

Sigma Tau Delta, a member of the Association of College Honor Societies, was founded at Dakota Wesleyan College in 1924, by Professor Q. Owen. The society now has chapters in all fifty states and in several foreign countries.
