Krebs was born and raised in a fourth generation farm family near
Arlington, South Dakota. She graduated from Dakota State University
with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1998.
While finishing her degree at Dakota State University, Shantel competed in the Miss South Dakota scholarship pageant and won the title in 1997. The grand opening was held in April of 2007. Ms. Krebs also finds time to provide service to her community and state. She was elected to a seat in South Dakota’s House of Representatives in 2005 and is currently in her second term serving as a member of the State Affairs and Transportation committees. She is involved in organizations and numerous boards, including a term as President of the American Business Women’s Association.
