Mundt Gallery Hosts Artists' Reception February 1

Dakota State University’s Karl E. Mundt Art Gallery is hosting an artist’s reception Thursday, February 1 at 6:30 pm for Angela Behrends, Vancouver WA, and Rick Janssen, Madison, SD.  The artists work will be on display at the gallery through February. 

According to gallery curator Alan Montgomery, “The artists’ work references the human form and elemental forces like fire, earth, air, and water. The artists featured in the exhibition offer a contemporary view of what art is made of and how it is designed (form), and in turn form generates content--the psychological and emotional impact of a work of art. The work is also conceptual, which refers to the ideas that drive the artwork. Contemporary artists push the boundaries of both form and content and in doing so the viewer is invited to participate in an open ended dialog.”
