DSU Professor at International Conference Dakota State University Associate Professor Dr.
Joseph Walwik will participate in an international conference
entitled “Dissent in America” at the American University in Cairo in
Egypt, November 6-8. The conference is sponsored by the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud Center for American Studies and Research of the American University in Cairo. Scholars from the United States, the Middle East and Europe will be gathering to examine American political traditions during the three day conference. Dr. Walwik will be a panelist in a discussion on political opposition in nineteenth century America and will be sharing his research, entitled “The Descent and Dissent of John Quincy Adams.” Dr. Walwik teaches history and government at Dakota State in the College of Arts and Sciences. Since receiving his Ph.D. from American University in Washington, D.C., he has had the opportunity to teach at the American University in Cairo, the National University of Kyrgyzstan, and the University of Latvia. |
