DSU Faculty and Staff Attend Leadership Training

 Dakota State University staff members Denise Grayson, Tom Jones, and Crystal Pauli recently attended a workshop at USDSU in Sioux Falls. The workshop, entitled Leadership Essentials, was part of a group of leadership development courses offered through Harbor Consulting Group. 

 Attendees were given a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test, which reveals personality traits and helps one understand how those traits can best be used to work with others.  They also participated in a 360° Managerial Assessment that included a survey completed by their colleagues.  The surveys were used by the three to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses in their various positions.

 Denise Grayson is Director of Financial Aid at Dakota State.  Tom Jones is an Assistant Professor in the College of Arts and Sciences and Crystal Pauli is an Assistant Professor and Director of Field Services in the College of Education.

 Harbor Consulting Group is a firm specializing in personal, team and organizational development and transformation.   The Leadership Essentials workshop was facilitated by the president of the Harbor Group, Erik Hoekstra.  Hoekstra is a faculty member at The Leadership Institute, a national leadership development program based in Colorado.
