Board of Regents Honors DSU Student Organizations The South Dakota Board of Regents gave awards to three student organizations from Dakota State University at their meeting on the DSU campus October 20. The
DSU student groups receiving awards were:
Award for Academic Excellence – Phi Beta Lambda is a national collegiate organization with a mission to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs. PBL fulfills its mission by providing workshops, speakers, leadership conferences, and competitive events. Through these events members learn about the business environment and are able to apply what they have learned in class through competitions. Community Service Award – The South Dakota Education Association’s Student Program gives future educators an opportunity to work with children and be active in the community. Members go into local classrooms to read to children, interact with students, and observe classroom instruction. SDEA participated in various Out Reach to Teach projects, both nationally and statewide. As community volunteers, the group planted trees, flowers, and shrubs around the outside of area schools.
