Figg Presents at International Conference Dr. William Figg, Associate Professor of Business & Information Systems Security in the College of Business and Information Systems at Dakota State University, will present a paper at the International Conference on Technology being held January 9-12, 2007, at Cambridge University in England. The Technology Conference is held annually in different locations around the world. Attendees include academics, research students, technology developers, and trainers and industry consultants. Dr. Figg’s presentation is entitled “Corporate Network Exposure Due to Social Engineering: Computer Security.” The paper outlines the vulnerabilities of network security caused by human intervention. Much effort is invested by network administrators to over come the results of failure to follow established security policies. Figg’s presentation will outline ways to harden corporate network defenses including a combination of security in technologies and policy enforcement. Figg has been at Dakota State since 2001. He became a Certified Hacking Forensics Investigator in August, 2006. |
