DSU FALL ENROLLMENT SETS RECORD Madison-Dakota State University officials released record enrollment numbers for Fall 2006 today (Wednesday). The student head count at DSU rose from 2,329 students in 2005 to 2,439. Full-time equivalent (FTE) rose from 1,504 to 1,526. The full-time equivalent figure is based on total credit hours generated by all students. “We are very pleased to see this kind of growth at Dakota State University,” stated DSU President Dr. Douglas Knowlton. “This is another record enrollment for DSU and reflects the continuing growth of opportunities for our students and another recognition of the quality academic experience being provided by this incredibly dynamic institution.” Dakota State had the largest percentage headcount gain of any institution, with the headcount gain second only to SDSU. DSU is also now officially larger than both SD School of Mines and Technology and larger than Northern State University. Enrollment figures for the six public universities in South Dakota were released Wednesday from Pierre.
