Keith Bundy is
Outstanding Citizen with a Disability
Keith Bundy was honored as the 2005 Outstanding
Citizen with a Disability during a governor’s Award
Luncheon held March 8 in Pierre. Bundy is the
Director of Student Development at Dakota State
University.

The award is given to an individual with a
disability in recognition of outstanding
achievements in overcoming a disability and for the
promotion of independent living and employment
opportunities for other individuals with
disabilities.
Bundy currently serves as the Co-President of the
South Dakota Association of the Blind, and as chair
of the Board of Service to the Blind and Visually
Impaired. Throughout his life he has been an
advocate of academic achievement and independent
living for other individuals with disabilities. He
willingly shares his expertise with others by
providing training on specialized assistive
technology devices, participating in numerous
listserves and speaking at meetings of clubs and
organizations.
As Director of Student Development at DSU, he worked
to modify the curriculum for a basic computer class
to be taught to students who are blind or visually
impaired. The course is available during the summer
to all students statewide.
In his professional career, Bundy has served as a
counselor, pastor, braillist, assistive technology
teacher and speaker. He is currently the pastor of
the Church of the Nazarene in Madison.
Bundy lives in Madison with Peggy, his wife of
nearly 25 years. The Bundy’s have four children.
