Information Technologies Workshops at DSU

PIERRE, S.D. – Dakota State University is hosting the Digital Dakota Network Information Technologies (DDN-IT) Summer School Program June 13-24. The program is designed for technology coordinators and computer teachers to learn network operating system fundamentals and network management principles.  With the State of South Dakota K-12 Data Center located on the DSU campus plus with the strong technology emphasis, DSU can take advantage of their expertise and technology infrastructure to provide this training.

The DDN-IT Summer School Program will feature two options. One is designed for those who have limited computer knowledge and networking skills. The other is geared toward those who are more advanced in these areas. 

The schedule is as follows:

June 13 – 17

Option 1:  Network Operating System Fundamentals
Option 2:  Networking Topics I

June 20 -24

Option 1:  Network Operating System Advanced
Option 2:  Networking Topics II

The Department of Education works to maintain their leadership role to keep South Dakota first among the states for utilizing technology in the schools by providing this training at no cost to the school districts.  Participants can receive two graduate credits or Department of Education renewal credit for attending the two weeks. For information, contact Mike Waldner at (605) 256-5674 or Lynette Molstad at (605) 256-5161. The DDN-IT Summer School Program is provided by a consortium of partners including the South Dakota Department of Education, Bureau of Information Technologies, Dakota State University, and Mitchell Technical Institute.
