DSU Financial Aid Director
Resigns Dakota State University Director of Financial Aid Rosie Jamison has announced her resignation effective the end of June. She has accepted the marketing manager position with U.S. Bank for SD, ND and MT, where she will continue to work with student education financing through federal and private education loans offered by U.S. Bank. Jamison graduated from Dakota State in 1980 and started work at DSU in 1981 as a job development/career planning counselor. She was named director of admissions and recruiting in 1984. She resigned from that position in 1985 to take a position as associate director of financial aid at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, but returned to DSU in 1993 as director of financial aid. As director of financial aid, Rosie was responsible for administering the university’s financial aid programs, maintaining University federal compliance, determining student eligibility and developing institutional policies and procedures for Federal, institutional, state, and private assistance funds. She was also responsible for managing and distribution of financial aid program funds that assist with recruitment and retention of University students. Approximately 90% of DSU degree-seeking students receive some form of financial aid. Rosie served on the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators Nominations and Elections Committee as the Rocky Mountain region representative. She has been on the Rocky Mountain Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (RMASFAA) Executive Board and served as regional conference chair. Additionally, Rosie has held several offices for the South Dakota Association of Financial Aid Administrators (SDASFAA) including President and recently received the Outstanding Service Award in recognition of her professional contributions and leadership. Rosie is currently serving on the SD Board of Regents Student System Coordinating Group and has been on several advisory boards related to student financial aid including the Federal Guarantee Agency-Education Assistance Corporation Advisory Board. |
