DSU kicks off 125th
anniversary celebration with a birthday party A party with birthday cake and candles kicked off an anniversary celebration at Dakota State University that will last through 2006. DSU President Dr. Doug Knowlton used the occasion to announce the 125 Anniversary Planning Committee members. Members were drawn from the Madison community, the DSU alumni association, and the faculty and staff of DSU. Although the 125th anniversary of the founding of Dakota State will officially begin in January 2006, the committee will be using the next months to plan events that will integrate anniversary activities into the academic and social life of the campus and the greater Madison community. They will also be collecting historical memorabilia and compiling remembrances from alumni and friends of the university. Committee members include Linda Brozik, Jeff Dittman, Donna Fawbush, Nancy Grassel, Barb Hegg, John Hess, Jon Hunter, Peg Kietzer, Sharon Knowlton, Bonnie Olson, Mandy Parpart, Deb Pauley, Crystal Pauli, Margie Phillips, Maury Poppen, Eric Saugstad, Jona Schmidt, Cindy Schultz, Steve Shirley, Rick Smith, Rise Smith, Carla Sudenga, Vicki Walters, Chris Wede, Joyce Welbon and Gene Wockenfuss. An honorary committee will also be formed of those who contribute memories for a special commemorative publication.
Dakota State University
