Dakota State University Selected as Host School

for Dakota Oyate Challenge Basketball Tournament

Madison – Dakota State University was selected as this year’s host school for the 2003 Dakota Oyate Challenge Basketball Tournament.  The Dakota Oyate Challenge is being held today through February 1^st at the Crossroads Convention Center in Huron.

As a host school, the University will be webcasting live the tournament games of the Dakota Oyate Challenge.  This is the first time the tournament has been webcast.  Support activities are coordinated by the staff and students of DSU's Diversity Office and Center of Excellence.  Gateway and Midcontinent Communications also partnered with DSU to help webcast the events.  Click on the Dakota Oyate Challenge link at www.dsu.edu.  The video for each game will be archived to CD-rom and DSU students will market copies to those in attendance.

The University also sees the Dakota Oyate Challenge as a recruitment opportunity as there will be hundreds of high school students in attendance.  DSU will have a booth and reception area highlighting technology and degree programs.  A career fair will also be held on Friday.
