DSU’s
Montgomery exhibits paintings at Washington Pavilion
DSU
Liberal Arts professor Alan Montgomery will have an exhibit of
recent paintings at the Sioux Falls Washington Pavilion.
The
exhibit, titled Alan Montgomery:
11.11 Iconographies, runs through May 18th.
A reception is scheduled for March 28 at 5:30pm in the
Visual Arts Center. The
reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
According
to the Washington Pavilion website, Montgomery’s post-modern
abstract paintings include representational compositional elements
and reference historical artworks, while manipulating juxtaposed
overlapping images, words, signs, and symbols.
Montgomery
plans to donate 25 percent of the proceeds from the sale of his
work to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Montgomery’s son was
diagnosed with CF in 2001.
