New scholarship formed at Dakota State University

Dakota State University announced today the establishment of the Madison Lions Club/John Ostraat Memorial Scholarship.  Previously, there were two scholarships, but the two were merged to make one annual scholarship and have a larger financial impact on the scholarship winner.

The criteria for the Madison Lions Club/John Ostraat Memorial scholarship specifies that the student be a Lake County resident in at least their second semester of school and have a GPA of at least a 3.0.  Preference is given to a Lions Club member or family member or a person with a disability.

“This is a wonderful demonstration of the desire the Madison Lions Club has to help young people in our community who want to go to college,” said Rick Smith, Vice President of University Advancement.
