DSU 2002 Homecoming activities set

            The Dakota State University Homecoming celebration starts Monday October 7 with a full slate of events. The theme this year is “Mission Peace, Can Ya Dig It.”

            A co-ed softball tournament will start the festivities at 4:30 on Flynn Field with a champion being made on Thursday. Also on Monday, Comedian Tess Drake will perform in the Trojan Center Underground at 7pm.

            Tuesday will be highlighted with a Campus Feud game, based on the Family Feud Game Show. The game starts at 5:30pm in the Trojan Center Market Place. Tuesday is also movie night at the West Twin Theatre.

            On Wednesday the Trojan Volleyball team will be in action against Conference rival, Mayville State. The match starts at 7pm in the Fieldhouse. After the game there will be a dance at 9:30 in the Dakota Prairie Playhouse with Johnny Holm performing.

            Thursday marks the building decorating contest, judging starts at 3pm with winners announced later. At 7pm on Thursday will be Open Mic. Gong Show Night and Coronation in the Trojan Center Underground.

            On Friday in the Trojan Center Underground there will be Freshman Showcase theatre plays. The Trojan volleyball team will also be in action against Conference foe, Dickinson State at the Fieldhouse. Both activities start at 7pm.

            On Saturday the activities start at 10am on Egan Avenue with the Homecoming Parade. Parade Marshals this year are Father and Son, Martin and David Gienapp.

The Homecoming Football Game kickoff is set for 1:30pm against in-state conference rival South Dakota Tech. At 7pm the Trojan Volleyball team will be in action against Minot State in the Fieldhouse.
