DSU football to establish alumni endowment

            The Dakota State University Trojan football program has established a football alumni endowment.

            “The athletic department has endowments in every sport,” Gene Wockenfuss, DSU head football coach said. “We thought for football, this was another means for alumni to put ownership back into DSU.”

            The goal is to bring the endowment up to $5,000 by August 1, 2002. When this happens, an annual award will be given to a student playing football.

            “This will assist in our scholarship efforts in bringing quality men to this university,” added Wockenfuss.

            Alumni and anyone else who supports Trojan athletics can contribute to the football endowment.
