DSU Delta Mu Delta Gamma holds annual awards banquet The
Dakota State University Gamma XI Chapter recently held its annual
awards and initiation banquet at Nicky's Restaurant. Dr. Cecelia
Wittmayer, Academic Vice President, was the guest speaker at the
banquet.
Membership
in Delta Mu Delta is a lifetime membership. DSU Dean of the
College of Business and Information Systems, Dr. Richard Christoph
was inducted as an honorary member of Delta Mu Delta. Honorary
members are selected by current members to recognize contributions
by an individual to the business community and place of
employment. New
students inducted into the honorary business administration
chapter were Megan Brunken of Yankton, Whitney Christensen of
Huron, April Fernau of Madison, Thresha Flyger of Parker, Charlene
Gooding of Pierre, Liza Huber of Sioux Falls, Jody Jensen of
Ramona, Samantha Kangas of Watertown, Kim Knittel of Freeman, Kyle
Konopasek of Verdigre, Sara Laturnus of Cando, ND, Sarah Linneman
of Bruce, Abby Maas of Wentworth, Mark Schmidt of Chamberlain,
Sheri Svatos of Lake Andes, Nathan Tykwinski of Ivanhoe, MN,
Jessica Wipf of Gillette, WY and Sonya Wooddell-Hoepfer of Pierre.
Delta Mu Delta is a national honor society in the field of
business administration. To be chosen for this honor, a student
must attain a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and have
completed at least half of the courses needed to obtain a Bachelor
of Science degree in Business Administration.
Awards were presented to Amy Pierson of Flandreau for the
National Business Education Association Award of Merit and Kerry
Terwilliger of Ramona for the Wall Street Journal Student
Achievement Award. These awards recognize students for outstanding
achievement in business education and business administration.
New officers elected for the 2002-2003 were Jane Cleveland
of Montrose, President; Jessica Wipf, Vice President; Jill
Cleveland of Montrose, Secretary and Floyd Rummel of Lead,
Treasurer.
