Dakota State professor co-authors second book Dakota State University associate professor of natural sciences, Richard Bleil was recently published as co-author of his second book, “Peterson’s GED Success” (copyright 2002). Bleil wrote the most of the physical science section text of the book, covering physics and chemistry, as well as the practice questions within that section. The book is similar to the AP Chemistry book he co-authored last year, but geared towards a different audience. The book is for those trying to get their GED. Topics included in the book are English, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. In all, there are thirteen authors listed. Each author had some responsibility throughout the book, either helping to edit the work, writing practice exams, or writing sections of the book. Bleil’s previous book was for high school students preparing to take the advanced placement exam, while this book is for adults trying to complete their high school equivalence exam. “This is the second book I’ve worked with that focuses on helping the general public understand the physical sciences,” said Bleil. “All along, I have had a desire to help promote an understanding of the physical sciences in the general public and help those who are striving to seek self-improvement, especially through education, so I’m happy to have been a part of these projects as well as additional efforts I have made since I’ve been associated with DSU.” |
