NCA formally approves continued accreditation for Dakota State

Madison, SD  -- Dakota State University received notification this week that the North Central Association (NCA) has formally approved continued accreditation of DSU.  This action follows a visit by a NCA Review Team in October of 2000.

“The NCA accreditation review was a very positive experience for the University,” said Dr. Jerald Tunheim, President of DSU.  “Faculty and staff put forth a tremendous amount of time and effort to the preparation and actual completion of the comprehensive evaluation.  We are delighted with the final results and the positive responses from the review team.”

“As expected, DSU was commended very highly for its use of technology throughout its curriculum,” said Tunheim. 

The next NCA comprehensive evaluation is scheduled for 2010-11 with no reports or focused evaluations required before that time.
