DSU Jazz Band to make stops at area schools

            The Dakota State University Jazz band will be going on a one-day concert tour of three high schools Friday, April 6.  The band will make stops in Lennox, Garretson, and Montrose. The first two will be performances for music students only, but the last performance will be a concert for the entire K-12 student body.

“These concerts not only give the jazz band a concrete motivation for rehearsing,” said DSU band director Dan Mortenson. “They also provide opportunity for recruitment, public relations with area schools, and a chance to offer an educational experience for our students and theirs.”

The DSU Jazz band has been taking these one-day outings each spring for the last several years, visiting different schools each time.
