Honermann Endowment Scholarship Plaque presented

            The Dakota State University Athletic Department, along with DSU President, Dr. Jerald Tunheim and Athletic Director, Dr. Tom Gioglio, recently presented the Honermann family with a plaque representing their endowment scholarship.

            The women’s basketball endowed scholarship was established by Rick and Diane Honermann on behalf of their daughter Heidi and niece Jessica to assist the Lady T’s in the recruitment of quality women’s basketball players. Both players are graduates of Adrian High School and were standout prep athletes for the Southwest Minnesota Community.

            Heidi was a four-year letter winner at DSU, gaining Academic All-American honors twice. She is the Lady T’s all-time leader in three-point field goal percentage at 40.1 percent.

            Jessica is still a member of the Lady T’s, ranking third all-time in the record book for career blocked shots with 57. She is fifth and seventh on the list for most blocked shots in a season with 32 and 27 respectively.

            Both Jessica and Heidi were members of the Conference Champion teams of 2000 and 2001 that advanced to the “Elite Eight” and “Sweet 16” rounds of the NAIA National Tournament the previous two seasons.
