DSU golf classic June 15The Dakota State Athletic department will be hosting a Golfing for Scholarships outing Friday June 15th at the Madison Country Club. Besides golfing, participants will receive a dinner followed by an auction. The event is being held to raise money for DSU scholarships.
The golf classic will be a four-person best ball scramble. DSU alumni, faculty and staff as well as members of the community will be participating in the event to help raise money for athletics. “Golf classics are a great way to raise money for scholarships so Dakota State can increase its scholarship budget for all sports,” said head football coach Marc Bergan. “This will allow us to better compete, scholarship wise, with the North Dakota schools as well as other schools in our conference.” The golf classic takes place Friday, June 15th with registration starting at 11:30am. A putting contest will follow registration and golfing will get underway with a 1pm shotgun start. Pin prizes will go to those who hit a hole in one, are closest to pin, have the longest putt, longest drive and straightest drive. Following golfing will be dinner and an auction. Items to be auctioned include a registered chocolate Labrador puppy, autographed plaques from Minnesota Vikings' Daunte Culpepper, Minnesota Twins' Jacque Jones and Corie Koskie, an autographed Cris Carter football card, plus several donated items from Madison area merchants. |
