DSU Narrows Head Football Coach to Two Candidates –
Public Invited to Informal Receptions


Madison – Dakota State University officials announced today that the candidates for the Head Football Coach position have been narrowed to two individuals.

Gene Wockenfuss, a 1983 graduate of Dakota State University, is currently the Assistant Head Football Coach at Doane College.  He has been at Doane since 1994.  Wockenfuss graduated high school from Ipswich and earned his master’s from South Dakota State University in 1992.

The public is invited to meet Wockenfuss at an informal reception today (Thursday, December 6) at Nicky’s at 7pm. 

Aaron Vlcko is currently the Offensive Coordinator and Academic Coordinator at Bemidji State University.  He has been at Bemidji since 1994.  Vlcko earned his undergraduate degree from Coe College and he holds two master’s degrees, one from Bemidji and the other from Lindenwood College. 

Vlcko will be coming to campus next week and the public will be invited to attend an informal reception when plans have been finalized.
