First-ever Athletic Training month celebrated DSU athletic Trainer Brad Gilbert, along with other athletic trainers across the nation are celebrating the first ever National Athletic Training Month this month. The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), which currently serves more than 26,000 members, has taken the necessary steps to celebrate this first ever event. “The focus for National Athletic Training Month is to promote the profession,” said Jerry Koloskie, Public Relations Committee Chair. “The month has been devised to help the public fully understand the role of certified athletic trainers and the important service they provide at all levels of competition and physical activity.” “A lot of people misunderstand the job of the athletic trainer,” said Gilbert. “We are here to help provide the student/athlete with all phases of healthcare. Whether it is emergency first aid, setting up a better diet, or helping an athlete rehab after surgery, we will help the athlete with anything. We are the leading experts in healthcare for athletes and those engaged in physical activity.” For more information on National Athletic Training Month contact Brad Gilbert at 256-5230. |
